Privacy Policy

This policy explains how The Long Stare ("we", "us") handles information on this website and in "The Long Stare publisher", the internal tool we use to run our YouTube channel.
1. Visitors to this website
This website uses no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking scripts, and it loads no third-party fonts or widgets. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which may keep basic technical logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
2. The Long Stare publisher and YouTube API Services
The Long Stare publisher uses YouTube API Services. By using it you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Only the owner of The Long Stare channel uses the publisher, and only to manage that channel. It is not offered to the public.
What it accesses, with the owner's permission:
- the channel's own videos, playlists, captions and thumbnails, in order to upload and update them;
- the channel's YouTube Analytics reports, including revenue reports, in order to measure performance;
- public comments posted on the channel's videos, including the commenter's public display name and comment text, in order to understand viewer questions and corrections.
How it is used and stored:
- This data is used only to publish and improve The Long Stare's videos.
- It is stored on the channel owner's own computer. Analytics and comment text are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted or aggregated.
- Access tokens are stored only on that computer and are never shared.
- We do not sell, rent or share this data with anyone, and we do not use it for advertising. It is never transferred except back to YouTube through its API.
- Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Revoking access: anyone who has authorized the publisher can revoke its access at any time on Google's security settings page: myaccount.google.com/permissions.
3. If you commented on our videos
If you want a comment you posted on our videos removed from our records, email us and we will delete it within 30 days. You can also delete the comment on YouTube itself.
4. Children
Our channel and this website are made for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
